Job Description

The St. Louis Rams is looking for an exceptional Managing Editor candidate.  Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the digital content strategy for the organization
  • Working with all departments to create, establish and maintain innovative ideas that drive frequency and repetition to the site that align with our overarching brand traits, strategy and vision for growth
  • Working closely with Football, Marketing and Public Relations to create newsworthy non-traditional content for the web, wireless, syndication, and social
  • Overseeing the development, redesign and implementation of the website with a new focus that aligns with the overall brand identity and direction of the franchise
  • Creating a newsroom mentality in regards to keeping up with relevant topics, staying cutting edge and pulling in new casual fans
  • Coordinating weekly content meetings with key stakeholders to develop cross platform content schedule
  • Working closely with club photographers in developing a photo archive solution with timely publishing turnaround
  • Working closely with Analytics Specialist to create email campaigns to Season Ticket Holders
  • Closely monitoring real time engagement and traffic to determine content hierarchy and promotion
  • Analyzing data to influence future content, campaigns and direction
  • Proofing all content before publishing to the website for any grammatical errors or typos

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5-7 years of digital experience, preferably in a leadership role
  • College degree in related field
  • Html and CSS expertise required
  • Previous experience in utilizing a CMS
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Superb editing skills and extreme attention to detail
